These table tops are created with exceptional artisan skills, using a technique first seen in the seventeenth century – the unique art of scagliola. A compound is created from selenite, mineral pigments and glue, which is then worked to simulate the finest materials, whether marble, hard stone or malleable precious metals. Scagliola can be used to cover walls or to create one-off objects of design and brings unique artistic value and beauty to each individual work.
